Since the beginning of his career, Dontez has been trademarked as a Kreative Entity. At the age of 8 years old Dontez found a passion for doing hair, so with his thirst for knowledge he utilized his library card and rented the Milady’s Cosmetology book and read it continuously until his knowledge surpassed his peers and was on a professional level. Dedication and hard work paid off as he mastered his craft to be known for his Finished Look, rather it be natural hair or extensions or just a signature cut he was a force to reckon with. These qualities, along with a plethora of styles with intense hustle has gained him the recognition of being one of today”s Top Stylist!

 

After getting licensed in 2005 Dontez was on the fast track to success and had bigger plans. Building a clientele and rocking hairshows and magazine shoots Dontez became a popular name in his hometown Cleveland Ohio. Being casted to be on Style Networks reality show Split Ends in 2007 only fueled the fire to go to higher heights. Viewers stayed glued to their television and with his crazy antics Dontez became locally and Nationally known.

Building momentum in 2009 Dontez transition his life to Atlanta Georgia in hopes a pursing a dream of becoming a Celebrity Stylist. After his arrival he received a call from the producers and was featured on Style Networks Competition Show Split Ends The Big Cut Off where he was named The $10,000 stylist and the winner of The Big Cut Off. It didnt stop there Dontez began to build a name and a brand in the new city he called home. 2012 was amazing for him opening up his salon Kreativity Palace Salon in Hapeville Ga. This also was the year IamDontezLove was birthed and the significance beyond amazing I AM was the name God told Moses to tell the children of Israel sent him. So God is who leads Dontez so why not keep God in the forefront of Everything!

 

Always in grindmode and with expansion of his brand Dontez went back to school (CEI) and has become a Licensed Cosmetology Instructor. Proving to be an amazing Cosmetology, Nail and Makeup Instructor God gave him a vision of birthing a new endeavor D. Love Academy.

 

Over the years Dontez aquired a higher profile clentele working with popular locals, reality stars and celebrities. His impressive list of clientele have included names such as R&B Singers K Michelle, Teyana Taylor and Dondria. Reality Star Tionna Taylor (What Chilli Wants) Tameka Raymond, Chanita Foster (From the Bottom Up) and Stormy Wellington (TLC).

The past year has shown Dontez that hard work is seen by those who need to see it. Being featured on the hit show Star and casted to be a judge on Timbos to Stilettos 2017 has been a year to Remember! In March Voyage Atl Magazine named Dontez 1 of Atlantas Most Inspiring Entrepreneurs! Being nominated for 3 SBM Awards Dontez walked away with the CozBar Award and was named Mr. Cozbar. Working diligently in an effort to offer quality Hair Extensions to his clients Dontez branded The Love Collection Hair Extensions. Confirmation to have his own episode of Real People of Atlanta is the newest view in to his life, as if he didnt have a full plate Dontez felt in his heart that his location needed to change in order for maximum potential of his business so He opened The KP Suite located in downtown Atlanta.

 

Dontez absolutely loves his life and career. And although his work behind the chair is beyond gratifying, He is always focused on expansion. He remains fascinated with the idea of traveling the world, catering to high profile clientele, or perhaps his own reality series. With a hectic work schedule, as well as a crazy personal life, Dontez’s story would certainly be a perfect fit for entertainment television.
